The first GMT-Master ever produced. Developed with Pan Am for their long-haul pilots. "Red Depth" gilt dial, Bakelite bezel, no crown guards. Thinner case and different lug geometry than anything that came after — not comparable to 1958+ examples. Caseback stamped IV.55. This is where the GMT story begins.
